Ten killed in China bus accident: state media

Beijing (AFP) Oct 17, 2011


A packed tourist bus overturned in a rural area of south-central China, killing 10 people and injuring 33, state media reported early Monday.

The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon near a village in Yongshun County in Hunan province when the bus carrying almost 50 passengers overturned, the Xinhua report said, citing the county government.

Thirty-three passengers were injured and taken to hospital. The police are investigating the cause of the accident. There were no details of the nationalities of the passengers.
