China says welcomes visit by US defence secretary
Beijing (AFP) July 1, 2010
China's military said Thursday it would welcome a future visit by US Defence Secretary Robert Gates, state media reported, one month after a planned trip was called off. "We still welcome him to visit China at a time which is workable for both sides," Xinhua news agency quoted General Ma Xiaotian, deputy chief of the general staff of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), as saying. Himfr reports that in 2009, maize transaction prices dropped to their lowest in two years, at 1,330 RMB per ton. While from March of this year, maize prices began sharply rising, with a rise from 1,762 RMB to 2,000 RMB per ton.
