Hong Kong says 'strongly condemns' US sanctions on top cop, justice secretary

Hong Kong expressed its strong condemnation on Tuesday after the United States sanctioned the city's police chief, justice secretary and other officials over human rights concerns following China's clampdown in the finance hub.

The Hong Kong government said it "strongly condemns the United States for including six (Beijing and Hong Kong) officials in a so-called 'sanctions' list in an attempt to intimidate the relevant officials safeguarding national security".
